There are a number of things we each can do to rebalance and lower the stress level we are experiencing.

Get to know your symptoms
Stress can manifest in many and varied ways. Each of us demonstrates our own particular symptoms and unique stress reaction pattern. It is important to learn our symptoms and patterns so that we can recognize when stress is beginning to affect us and we can take action before our stress response gets out of control.

Talk to others about it
Stress advice No. 1! Many people finding it difficult or embarrassing to talk to others about their stress, but very few people manage to escape from a serious stress condition by themselves. We can all benefit from help from others.

Reflexology/massage
Physical touch releases the anti-stress hormone oxytocin. A regular reflexology or massage session will help invigorate the parasympathetic system and turn down the sympathetic stress response.

Meditation
Twenty minutes of meditation daily during stressed periods can act as an effective break on the sympathetic nervous system. There are many effective techniques for emptying your mind of all thoughts and tensions. You might want to try a few different ones to find the one that works best for you.
